Christmas Ties

“You are not wearing that tie!”

“It’s a tie. I have a jacket,” Sam whined, eyes pleading. “What’s the problem?”

Dan cleared his throat. “Do you really need to ask?” He swung his partner around and landed a crisp swat. “Should we try this again?”

“It’s seasonal.” Sam tried to scramble out of the firing line, but Dan’s grip was secure.

“What is Santa wearing?”

“Black boots. Those are traditional; Santa always has black boots.”

“What else?”

“A black belt.”

“And?” Dan asked politely.

“A red hat.”

“Anything else?”

“No.”

“It’s a tie for a leatherman’s ball, not church. Change.”
